April In Paris (+Amsterdam, Barcelona, Mallorca, Stockholm, Katowice And Berlin)

Kurt Rosenwinkel Band is about to hit the road again for a short tour in Europe, comprising the above cities. The dates/cities/venues are:

April 20: Bim Huis, Amsterdam, Holland

April 21: New Morning, Paris, France

April 23: L’Auditori, Barcelona, Spain

April 24: Auditori del Conservatori di Palma, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

April 25: Jazzclub Fasching, Stockholm, Sweden

April 26: Academy of Music, Katowice, Poland

April 27: A-Trane, Berlin, Germany

The personnel on the tour is:

• Kurt Rosenwinkel – guitar
• Aaron Parks – piano
• Ben Street – bass
• Ted Poor – drums

This will be the last quartet date that Kurt does in a while as he is initiating a new trio project focused around standards – more about that shortly.

In the meantime, if you are curious about what this band is going to sound like, you can listen to/download a podcast that Kurt did for NPR/WBGO when he performed at the Village Vanguard in January 2009. It is the same band as on the tour, except it was Kendrick Scott on drums then.
