    Oh yeah. Had been in New York for 24 hours and was privileged to attend this gig. Oh the sound and the sounds were sublime. Kurtz sound was enormous but gentle. It kind of floats, recordings do not do it justice.
    The last song arranged by the drummer, Next Step was fantastic. It should be the theme song to Spartacus or Ben Hurt. All that was missing was an infantry of Romans marching across the band stand. Man that drummer was smoking and I loved Winton Marsalis' solos. Like a master he was last to solo and said so much with the fewest notes.

    Now I am off to see Peter Bertelstein. This city is too cool.
