I like the 2006 "David Prez-Romain Pilon Group" album at Fresh Sound New Talent, and I'm waiting to his first solo album, NY3, in february.

Man if he is playing with Perico Sambeat he has to be good - that man is one of the best alto players in thw whole world and deserves much more attention... I think he recorded one album with Kurt.

About Romain - greay playing, always good to hear new guitar players - thanks for sharing!

Perico Sambeat made 2 albums with Kurt Rosenwinkel Ademuz (1995), feat. Mark Turner and Brad Mehldau, and Frienship (2003), feat. Brad Mehldau, Ben Street & Jeff Ballard. 2 great albums with 2 different Kurt Rosenwinkel (each of them is awesome). And there was a live (2005, Congress Centrum, The Hague) on some years ago...
Edit : You can listen to some David Prez & Romain Pilon Group here :

Thanks for the info Neither, I have to hear those records. He played with a friend of mine last year (Virxilio da Silva) and he recorded his new record with another Portuguese guitarist (André Fernandes)

Yes, I discovered Andre Fernandes some time ago too after seeing one of your post about contemporary jazz singers on this forum. You suggested Sara Serpa, then I discovered Andre Matos (, another really interesting portuguese guitarist, and then Andre Fernandes.

Oh great! Now you know Perico's new record will feature André Fernandes :) Yeah André Matos is also great, he is living and playing in NY I think. There are some other excellent and not as famous players here.

Yes. That's one reason why this forum is great. It helps discovering great new musicians. I discovered Mike Moreno, Lage Lund and Jonathan Kreisberg with the old forum, just after discovering Kurt Rosenwinkel.
So thanks for the Sara Serpa suggestion !

No doubt - I also got interested in Lage Lund or Gilad Hekselman first here. Don't need to thank - just recommend me something local yourself :)
